Shaping Candidate Values through Campaign Communications

There hasn't been one communications project that I've been assigned that did not have a tight turnaround. Public Relations is a deadline-driven business. As a communications practitioner, I have the responsibility of producing quality pieces that are meaningful and reflect the tone of voice of my client. I have several goals in mind: Delivering a clear and concise message, targeting a specific audience, and producing the desired results. This focus is intensified when dealing with campaign communications. In particular, I need to take this opportunity to present my clients' values. People vote values.

Mr. Davion Lewis' is running a successful campaign for Ward A in East Point, Georgia. The election is approaching, on Nov. 5, 2019 with early voting currently underway. Last week, he was one of thirteen candidates endorsed by Georgia Equality for the 2019 Municipal Election.

We immediately issued a press release to reiterate his values for diversity, inclusion, representation, and equality. Even with tight deadlines, a story can be told. It is important that, as local candidates have limited time and resources to share with potential voters, they take every opportunity to share their platform and values.
